Benton F. Hesler, 91-year-old retired farmer and carpenter, died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday in his home here, 106 Vance Street.  He had been ill for a week. Active until a few months ago, Mr. Hesler had painted his house last year. He attended the Everyman’s Bible class at the First Christian where he was a deacon for several years and seldom missed attending until last Thanksgiving.  The son of James and Amanda Furr Hesler he was born in Rising Sun, Ill June 22, 1859.  He married Emma Glascock south of Hillsboro Dec 29, 1881.  At the time of her death Dec 21, 1933 they had been married for 52 years. Mr. Hesler had been a member of the First Christian Church since 1874.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Foxworthy of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Ernest C. Pegg of Richmond; three grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; three half sisters, Mrs. Minnie Cook, Mrs. Grace Williams and Mrs. Odelia Burgner, all of Veedersburg. His wife, a daughter, Lula, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home with burial in the Waynetown Masonic cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
